This past Sunday at church the message was on obedience and stepping out into what the Lord has called you to. One key point that stood out to me was that God will not bless something that is in direct disobedience to the Word of God. Lately, I have been experiencing the joy and reward that comes from being obedient to the Lord. Of course, at first it wasn't easy to step out in obedience and give up what I was holding on to, but God will bless your willingness and faithfulness--which makes it all worth it!
Another key point was that our discipline must match our desires. We all have desires, but more often than not we are not willing to put in the discipline and work to achieve those desires. God didn't call us to a life of comfort but a life of purpose. In order to live a purposeful life we have to be obedient, step out in faith, and trust in the Lord through it all.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
