DRESSING MONOCHROMATIC //
Ever heard of the fashion term monochromatic? It basically means wearing all of the same color. "Mono" meaning single and "chromatic" meaning color.
Now this doesn't mean that you would only wear solid black or solid red from head to toe. Even though I am totally in favor of wearing all black! The beauty of dressing monochromatic is wearing different shades of the same color.
•Choose a color that looks great with your skin & hair color. Neutrals are always safe to start with!
•Have fun with textures! You want to add visual interest, depth, and dimension to your look so it's not one-dimensional or boring. The sheer top paired with the distressed denim and leather sandals adds a variety of positive contrast.
•Remember balance & proportion! If you're wearing a flowy top, make sure to pair it with fitted bottoms.
*Key take away: one item fitted and the other loose fitted.
•Play with patterns. Monochromatic outfits don't just have to be made up of solid pieces; you can incorporate patterns or prints too . To break up the solid blocks of color, add a print piece made up of the same color you're working with. You can also incorporate a pop of color by simply adding a handbag or scarf.
Dressing monochromatic is a sure way to look chic and fashion forward! It can even make you appear taller and slimmer because the outfit is creating one seamless line from head to toe. I hope these tips helped and inspired you to create your own monochromatic look.
